Women’s Business Coaching Tip of the Day: Progress Trumps Perfection – every time.

Hello Fabulous Women!

Haven’t we all been in this position – stuck not taking action because we don’t have it “right” yet?  Don’t have it all figured out, don’t have the “perfect” plan, so we’re afraid to get started?

Let’s face it, this is one of the most common pitfalls we as entrepreneurs can fall into, and it takes a huge toll on our business and success.

It takes courage to get into action when we feel we don’t know enough, but it’s also an essential part of the process of creating anything, whether it’s a business, a project, even a family.  (Seriously, for those of you with children, you might have thought you knew what it would be like to have kids before you had them, but now you know better, right?)

I am not saying that any of us should go blindly into action with no thought of how it will turn out – that would be foolish and, in some cases, dangerous.

But there is a point where, having done the homework you know to do, having made an initial plan, you simply need to let go, step into the unknown, and start making things happen.

A focus on perfection will get you nowhere.  Every time.  A focus on a vision of where you want to go and consistent action will get you progress toward that vision.  Every time.

So in your life or business, where can you see that a desire for perfection, for “getting it right,” has kept you from making Progress?  What action could you take today, right now, yes, right now, that would move you forward toward what matters to you the most?

Go for it!

Have a fabulous day!

You have inspired me to take action, and leave a comment! I have already posted my own blog for the day and am now reading others with simmilar tags. Being a perfectionist myself I know it is difficult to proceed with an action if you are not familliar with it yet. I recently heard someone say “everything is difficult, until it becomes easy” To make it “easy” you must do it repeatedly!

Excellent! Yes, getting yourself into the right habits by repeating them until they ARE habits — that’s one of the keys to success. It’s not glamorous, it’s not easy, it’s plain hard work, but once you are in the habit, then that thing does become easy — and then you can move onto the next difficult thing. You inspire me by taking action so quickly — thanks!
