Hello Fabulous Women!
Sometime last year I participated in a survey by David Riklan of SelfGrowth.com. Generally speaking, I avoid surveys as much as the next person, but this one immediately got my attention and I was very interested both to participate and to learn the results. The reason I was so enthusiastic is because I am a book person, and this survey had one simple question, which was:
“What three books have had the most profound impact on your life?”
How would you answer that question? Please note that it does not ask which you think are the best books you have read, or your favorites, but rather which three books have had the most profound impact. What’s coming to mind for you?
I thought you all would find this interesting as well, so here is the link to see the results of the survey:

I don’t know how many people responded, but I believe the survey was sent to a list of about 200,000 SelfGrowth subscribers, and between all of us who responded, we came up with a pretty impressive reading list. In addition to the top three, there are many other responses listed and a collection of comments at the bottom, with some of what some of the respondents had to say about their book choices. So next time you want (or need!) an inspiring book to read, you’ll have a great list readymade to get started on! Save this one on your desktop.
In case you are wondering how I answered the question, the first two I didn’t even have to think about – they were Illusions by Richard Bach and Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda. Illusions I read back in high school and can still quote full sentences from, it had such a profound impact on me and my view of life!
I had to think for a bit for my third book, which was a fairly obscure book called To Hear the Angels Sing by Dorothy MacLean, one of the people who founded the Findhorn community in Scotland which some of you may have heard of.
Enjoy the list, and enjoy reading some of the very best inspirational books humankind has yet produced!
