Is It Your Time To Blog?

December 17, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Love to write?  Have you ever thought about blogging, but just don’t how to get started?

I heard about and was curious about blogging for years, but didn’t know how to get started, what would be involved, what it would be like – you know, the usual things that can stop you before you even start!  Then last summer I spoke with a popular blogger and women’s empowerment diva Ponn Sabra, and I got inspired and decided to start blogging.

It’s been a great experience for me, not only broadening my reach to women entrepreneurs and improving my website’s rankings, but also helping me to become increasingly clear about what I do, what I can provide for people, and helping me improve my skills and focus as a coach.

If you are interested at all in blogging, I have a few suggestions and an offer!

A great way to get started in the “blogosphere” is to start visiting blogs on topics that interest you, and when you are moved to do so, post comments on those blogs.  This is a great way to get accustomed to blogs and how they work, and to start getting used to writing your own ideas and replies to what other people are putting out there.  Some blogs are hugely popular, with very active readers who love to comment and some pretty lively debates can go on!  This can be a lot of fun, as long as you choose blogs on topics that matter to you.

You’d be surprised at all the blog topics out there – just about everything under the sun has someone blogging about it.  Go ahead and Google just about any topic and add the word “blog” and you’ll see.  “Dachshund blog?”  Yes – it’s called hotdogblog.com.  No, I’m not kidding.

There are craft blogs, dance blogs, many political blogs, business blogs, mommy blogs, kids blogs – there is even a Webkinz blog.  Go ahead and check out some of the blogs on topics you care about – gardening, kids, health, sports, politics – and if you want to add your voice, comment on the blog posts.

That may be all you do, or it might be the start of you becoming a blogger yourself.

Now, I mentioned I had an offer for you all, and here it is.  If any of you would like to try your hand at guest blogging here on the On Track and On Purpose Blog, I would be delighted!  I know from talking with many of you and receiving your emails that you all have lots to say and share, and your opinions and knowledge and points of view can make a huge difference for people if you just get them out there.

So if you are interested, now or later, just let me know and we’ll talk about the details.  Sound good?  Good!  I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

The Most Important Email You’ll Get Today

December 3, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Hello Fabulous Women!

How can I say this is the most important email you’ll get today?  Well, it’s just my opinion, of course, and you are free to disagree.  The reason I say it is so important is that I believe that a good laugh is one of the most important things in life, something we need each and every day, and let’s face it, a good laugh is not always the easiest thing to find on a Monday morning.

So take a couple of minutes, follow this link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxT5NwQUtVM and get your belly laugh for the day.  If you are having a challenging day, make sure you save it and go back to it several times if that’s what it takes to keep you in that positive zone.  Don’t say you don’t have time.  You do.  Imagine being at the end of your life, looking back and thinking, “Well, I got a lot of stuff done, but I didn’t laugh much.”  You know you don’t want that!

At the end of the day, look at all the emails you got today, and then you tell me – were any of them really more important than that belly laugh?

Here’s the link again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxT5NwQUtVM

Have a fabulous day!
